Walk-in visits go better early in the day, and that holds at every clinic in Richmond. Lists cap out once the schedule fills, so turning up at four in the afternoon is often a wasted trip. Phoning first to ask whether they are still taking patients for the day beats both strategies.
Finding a family doctor in this city is hard, and finding a walk-in with reasonable waits is only marginally easier. A practice doing both is answering something a great many people here need and cannot easily get. The distinction matters more than it looks. A practice that can take you on gives you continuity, and continuity is what gets a chronic problem managed rather than repeatedly triaged by whoever happens to be on shift.
Cooney Road runs parallel to No. 3, a block from Lansdowne Centre and a short walk from Lansdowne station, through the cluster of professional offices between Lansdowne and Brighouse. The whole block is well enough served by the Canada Line that no appointment needs a car, which is worth more than it sounds when you are unwell or when the visit itself makes driving home a bad idea.
Anyone new to Richmond, or newly without a doctor after a retirement, should ask directly whether the practice is accepting patients rather than assuming a walk-in visit leads anywhere. That question decides whether this is a one-off or the start of something useful. The rest of the block is set up to make the follow-ups painless, with pharmacies and labs a few minutes away on foot.
