Chiropractors
Chiropractic, registered massage therapy, acupuncture, custom orthotics and Class IV laser therapy from a single clinic in Surrey's Clayton Heights.
Most people book here with something specific bothering them: back pain that will not settle, a headache pattern that keeps returning, sciatica down one leg. Chiropractic care at this Clayton Heights practice covers those, along with arthritis, scoliosis, postural problems, repetitive strain injuries and pregnancy-related discomfort. The office has been at 18810 72 Ave, unit 204, in Surrey, since 2009.
Dr. William (Bill) Hogan, MSc, DC, opened it that year after a term as an associate in a busy Langley clinic. He holds a B.Sc. in Kinesiology and an M.Sc. in Neural Control of Movement from the University of New Brunswick, and practised in Wisconsin for three years before moving to British Columbia. A second chiropractor, Dr. Jacob Stetz, trained at the University of Western States in Portland, Oregon, and Traditional Chinese Medicine is handled by Ting Yuen Tjiong, known as Tim, a second-generation practitioner with a master's degree from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. Registered massage therapists see patients here too.
Alongside adjustments, several other lines of treatment run out of the same office. Acupuncture and cupping come with Tui Na, moxibustion, electroacupuncture, gua sha and Chinese herbal formulas behind them, and massage is booked as registered or non-registered work. Custom orthotics are made through The Orthotic Group, using a gait plate and 3D digital imaging, then 3D printed in running, hiking and everyday versions. Newest on the list is Class IV laser therapy, applied with a handheld device in sessions of roughly five to fifteen minutes with no downtime, for plantar fasciitis, tendonitis, muscle strains and joint sprains.
Patients arriving after a crash will find the clinic's ICBC treatment process laid out in detail. Paperwork is handled in-house, and eligible treatments may be billed directly to ICBC, subject to the limits of the claim and the clinic's billing policy. The first twelve weeks of a claim are pre-approved for 25 chiropractic, 12 massage therapy and 12 acupuncture treatments. ICBC does not cover missed appointments or late cancellations, so the clinic asks for at least 24 hours' notice. MSP, ICBC, DVA and RCMP patients are accepted for chiropractic, registered massage therapy and Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the chiropractors accept WCB patients.
New patients are welcome and no referral is required. Direct billing to an extended health plan depends on the plan, so bring a second form of payment. Appointments run Monday to Friday and on Saturdays. The clinic's own pages name Surrey, Cloverdale, Langley, Brookswood, Willowbrook, Willoughby and Port Kells as the areas it serves. Booking goes through the online system or by phone on 778-574-2629.

From the blog
Longer reads from the editor, with the places worth a detour linked inside them.
The Night Market's final season is the loud story. The quieter one: free admission at the Cannery ends Monday, Britannia keeps summer hours through Sunday, and Steveston does sunsets better than anyone.

Nothing on Alexandra Road is a secret. It is just in a strip mall with bad signage and no patio, which is why visitors never find it. Here is how I actually use Richmond's plazas and food courts, which specialists are worth the drive, and when not to bother.

The West Dyke Trail is about five and a half kilometres of flat gravel between Terra Nova Rural Park and Garry Point, and I ride it most mornings. Here is what is actually at the north end, which way to walk so the wind is on your side, and why winter is the better season for it.
