About LabTest Certification

Product compliance testing, certification and field evaluations from a Delta head office, accredited for Canadian, US, EU and UK market approvals.

The Delta address at 205-8291 92 Street appears on OSHA's register of Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories, a United States federal recognition granted in November 2021 to that site rather than to the company at large. It signals what sort of laboratory this is: product compliance, not clinical or medical work. Manufacturers send equipment here to be tested, inspected and certified, and even the medical devices line means device safety certification for the people who build the devices.

This is the head office rather than a branch, and the service list behind it is wide. Testing and certification categories cover electrical safety, hazardous locations, EMC, lighting, EV charging systems, medical devices, plumbing products, batteries including UN 38.3 transport testing, solar, marine equipment, fenestration, fire testing, fuel-burning appliances, prefabricated buildings and energy efficiency. Six lines organize all of that: Testing and Certification, Field Evaluations, Management System Services, a Training Program, Preliminary Design Review and International Services. A manufacturer weighing a submission can see how the testing and certification stream is put together first.

Three separate accreditation bodies sit behind that work. The Standards Council of Canada accredits the company as a certification body under ISO 17065 and as an inspection body under ISO 17020, while A2LA and the International Accreditation Service cover the ISO 17025 testing laboratory scope. Inspection work takes in CSA SPE-1000 and SPE-3000, NFPA 790 and 791 field evaluations, and unit verification for hazardous locations. The published accreditation list sets out the certificates behind each of those.

Export markets call for a different set of credentials. LabTest holds EU Notified Body and UK Approved Body status for the ATEX, EMC and Radio Equipment directives, belongs to the IECEx Scheme, is an FCC-recognized test firm, and acts as a conformity assessment body and telecommunications certification body for ISED. Individual jurisdictions add recognitions of their own, among them Alberta for gas-fired appliances, the United States Coast Guard, the State of Washington and the City of Los Angeles mechanical and plumbing code.

The company also has an office in Richmond. Oakville, Las Vegas and Garland, Texas carry the remaining sites, and the markets it names for itself are Canada, the United States, the EU and the UK. Training sits alongside the laboratory work, covering hazardous locations and custom courses. Every service page routes to a request-a-quote form, and the contact page states that a representative replies within one business day. The Delta line is 604-247-0444, with a toll-free 1-855-346-0444, and email goes to [email protected].

Where Locals Actually Eat in Richmond BC

Nothing on Alexandra Road is a secret. It is just in a strip mall with bad signage and no patio, which is why visitors never find it. Here is how I actually use Richmond's plazas and food courts, which specialists are worth the drive, and when not to bother.
