About Bodega Pets Foods & Supply

Boutique pet grocer on Leslie Road, about an eight-minute walk from Aberdeen Station, focused on raw, frozen, dry and wet food for cats and dogs plus treats, grooming and walking gear. Small shop with staff who talk you through a food switch.

Switching a dog between food types is not a same-day operation, and the transition is where most people run into trouble. A week or two of gradual mixing usually does it. What a small shop offers over a big-box pet store is somebody who will ask what your animal is actually doing all day and then walk you through that change slowly enough that nothing goes wrong at the other end.

Feeding a dog turns out to be an opinionated business. Raw, frozen, dry, wet, and a great deal of confident advice from strangers at the dog park, which is where most of it circulates. This shop on Leslie Road works the boutique grocer end of the category, covering raw and frozen food for cats and dogs, dry and wet options alongside, plus treats, grooming supplies and walking gear. It is a small floor, so stock moves as brands come and go.

Leslie Road runs behind the Golden Village malls, in the part of the neighborhood most people only see when hunting for a specific unit number. It is roughly an eight-minute walk from Aberdeen station, so a car is not required, though carrying frozen food onto the Canada Line has obvious limits. Phoning ahead makes sense if you are crossing the city for one particular product, because specialist pet stock is the kind of thing that sells out quietly. Anyone with an animal on a restricted diet already knows this. Everybody else learns it once.

Where Locals Actually Eat in Richmond BC

Nothing on Alexandra Road is a secret. It is just in a strip mall with bad signage and no patio, which is why visitors never find it. Here is how I actually use Richmond's plazas and food courts, which specialists are worth the drive, and when not to bother.
