About Sea Harbour Seafood Restaurant

Polished Cantonese seafood restaurant beside the hotel at River Rock, a short walk from Bridgeport Station. Careful dim sum, live seafood, and a quieter and more formal room than the No. 3 Road crowd. Popular for business lunches.

Beside the hotel at River Rock, a short walk from Bridgeport Station, Sea Harbour runs one of the more formal Cantonese seafood rooms in the city. That transit access is worth noting, because serious dim sum in Richmond usually assumes a car and a parkade. The draw is careful dim sum in the morning and live seafood later, in a quieter room than the No. 3 Road crowd offers. Business lunches make up a large share of the trade.

Anyone new to tank seafood should understand how the format works. Fish and crab are sold by weight at the market rate of the day, so the sensible move at any restaurant of this type is to ask what a given choice will run before nodding at it. Nobody minds the question, and the staff would far rather answer it than deal with a startled table at the end of the meal.

Bridgeport is not a neighborhood people stroll. It is warehouses, hotels, the casino and the transit exchange, laid out for cars and buses rather than pedestrians, with the river close and very little street life in between. That works in Sea Harbour's favour on a weekday, because the room becomes a destination rather than somewhere to wander into. Weekend late mornings are the pressure point across every serious Cantonese room in this city, so a group with a fixed time in mind should plan around that window rather than turning up hopeful.

Where Locals Actually Eat in Richmond BC

Nothing on Alexandra Road is a secret. It is just in a strip mall with bad signage and no patio, which is why visitors never find it. Here is how I actually use Richmond's plazas and food courts, which specialists are worth the drive, and when not to bother.
