Auto Repair
Full-service garage in Steveston's historic Marine Garage building on Moncton Street, doing general repairs and scheduled maintenance. The obvious choice if you live in the village and would rather not drive up No. 3 Road.
Dropping a car off is a two-trip problem unless the garage is somewhere you can walk away from. That is the practical case for a repair shop inside Steveston village rather than out on industrial land. The alternative for people down here is a run up No. 3 Road or across to the strips off Bridgeport Road, and both mean arranging a ride back or killing two hours somewhere you did not plan to be.
Seppo's occupies the old Marine Garage on Moncton Street, which is Steveston's main commercial run and one of the few places left in Metro Vancouver where a working repair shop still sits in a heritage building on a high street. Most garages have long since been pushed out to industrial zoning. Leaving a car here means you walk home, or you walk to a coffee and out along the dyke and come back when it is ready.
The work is general repair and scheduled maintenance, the everyday business of keeping a car on the road rather than specialist performance jobs. Small independent garages in a village setting run almost entirely on repeat custom and word of mouth, which tends to keep them honest and also means capacity is finite. The good ones book up. Moncton itself gets tight through summer weekends and festival season, when the village fills with people who have driven in for the day, so timing a drop-off for a weekday morning avoids a fight for kerb space that has nothing to do with the garage.
