The upper floors of the Golden Village malls carry specialist businesses that would take a standalone unit anywhere else in Canada, because retail here is dense and vertical rather than spread across a parking lot. A high-end piano showroom fits that pattern exactly.
Fazioli and the other European makers on the floor put instruments in this building that most people will never otherwise encounter in person. Teaching happens in the same space, so on most days the pianos are being played rather than sitting in a silent room while visitors feel self-conscious about touching one. That is the right way to experience an instrument at this level, and it is a genuine reason to visit even for somebody who will never buy.
Aberdeen Centre has a Canada Line station at its door, which makes this one of the easiest destinations in Richmond to reach without a car. It works well as part of a longer wander through the Golden Village rather than as a single errand, although anybody shopping seriously will want a quiet hour and no schedule pressing on it.
Buying a first instrument for a child is the other reason people come through the door. A conversation in a room with real pianos in it produces better decisions than an afternoon of online listings, even when the eventual purchase happens somewhere else entirely, and nobody at this level of the trade expects otherwise.
