About Touch of Class Florists

A long-running full-service flower shop in the No. 1 Road plaza in west Richmond, handling everyday bouquets, sympathy and funeral work, and wedding orders. Locals use it for same-day arrangements without driving into Vancouver.

Sympathy and funeral orders sit alongside everyday bouquets and wedding work at this No. 1 Road plaza shop, which is a broad load for a small storefront. West Richmond is served by a limited number of florists, and that matters more than it sounds, because flowers are a deadline purchase far more often than a decorative one.

Sympathy work is the part worth flagging. It is the least enjoyable thing a florist does and the one where competence shows most clearly, because the timing is fixed, the etiquette is specific, and nobody arranging a funeral has the energy to manage a supplier as well. A shop that handles this regularly knows which arrangements suit which kind of service and can work to a window without being chased through it.

Seafair and the No. 1 Road corridor sit on the west side of the city, closer to the dyke than to the highway, and the area is thoroughly residential: schools, plazas anchored by a grocery store, and streets of seventies houses with mature gardens behind them. It is a short drive from Steveston and not much longer from City Centre.

Weddings need lead time and funerals do not get any, which is the tension every neighborhood florist works inside. Be specific about the date, the setting and what the arrangement has to survive. A shop given real information will do considerably better work than one handed a budget and a color.

Where Locals Actually Eat in Richmond BC

Nothing on Alexandra Road is a secret. It is just in a strip mall with bad signage and no patio, which is why visitors never find it. Here is how I actually use Richmond's plazas and food courts, which specialists are worth the drive, and when not to bother.
