About Touch of Flowers

Family-run shop on Williams Road in south Richmond doing hand-tied bouquets, arrangements and event work, with delivery across the city. Handy if you live south of Blundell and don't want to drive up to the City Centre malls.

Event flowers get planned weeks out rather than picked up on the day, and that is the part of this shop worth knowing about well in advance. Touch of Flowers is a family-run business on Williams Road doing hand-tied bouquets, arrangements, and work for weddings and functions. A local florist who takes that kind of booking is a completely different proposition from a bucket of stems at a supermarket, and the conversation happens long before anything needs to be ready.

For everyday flowers the argument is simpler. If you live south of Blundell you do not have to drive up to the City Centre malls, which is fifteen minutes each way plus a parkade for something you could have collected on the way home.

South Richmond is almost entirely residential. You get single-family streets, schools, parks and long flat blocks running between Blundell and Steveston Highway. The small commercial strips scattered along Williams Road survive because the neighborhood actually uses them rather than because of passing trade, and that is a decent filter on quality all by itself.

Williams Road runs east to west across the south of the city, connecting the Steveston end to No. 5 Road, and most residents use it daily without ever thinking about it. Strips like these have low buildings, a handful of long-standing tenants and no particular ambition, which is a large part of why people keep going back to the same three or four shops for years at a time.

Where Locals Actually Eat in Richmond BC

Nothing on Alexandra Road is a secret. It is just in a strip mall with bad signage and no patio, which is why visitors never find it. Here is how I actually use Richmond's plazas and food courts, which specialists are worth the drive, and when not to bother.
