Blundell Centre Optometry

Infant eye screening starts earlier than most parents realize, and that is the single most useful thing to know here if you have a baby. The recommendation to have a first check done inside the first year surprises people, and not every optometrist takes patients that young. Around that sit the standard adult services: full exams with glaucoma and macular checks, retinal imaging, and contact lens work.

Blundell Centre sits at No. 2 Road and Blundell Road in west Richmond, an ordinary suburban plaza serving the residential blocks around it. It is a straightforward drive from Seafair, Broadmoor and the Steveston end of the city, and it is the sort of place where an appointment attaches neatly to a grocery run. Eye injuries are worth thinking about in advance too, since the alternative at a weekend is an emergency room and a very long wait for something an optometrist can often handle directly. Routine adult eye exams are generally not covered by the provincial plan here, so the cost question is a real one and entirely fair to raise on the phone.
