About Optimum Eye Care

Independent optometry clinic in east Richmond off Gilley Road, running full eye exams, contact lens fittings and same-day emergency eye care. Has a dedicated dry eye clinic and direct-bills most extended health insurers.

Nobody wanders into an eye exam on impulse, and that single fact explains how a clinic can work well out on the eastern edge of Richmond. You lose passing foot traffic and the Canada Line entirely. You gain space, and easy access for anyone coming off the highway from Delta, Ladner or the eastern half of the city. For an appointment-based service that trade makes sense.

East Richmond does not look like the rest of the city. Past No. 6 Road the grid opens into farmland, greenhouses and industrial parks, with long straight roads and ditches on both sides. Gilley Road runs through that edge near the highway connections, in the part of Richmond most residents drive through rather than to. It is quiet out there in a way the corridor never manages to be, even at night.

Routine exams and contact lens fittings cover most visits. The capability worth knowing about before you need it is same-day emergency care, because eye injuries and sudden vision changes do not wait politely for a Tuesday slot, and knowing where to go saves a frantic half hour of searching. A dedicated dry eye service is the other distinguishing feature, and dry eye gets dismissed as a minor complaint right up until it stops being manageable. Treating it properly takes equipment and time rather than a bottle of drops off a shelf. Anyone driving out from the west side should build in extra minutes each way, since the eastern roads carry farm and truck traffic that does not move quickly.

Where Locals Actually Eat in Richmond BC

Nothing on Alexandra Road is a secret. It is just in a strip mall with bad signage and no patio, which is why visitors never find it. Here is how I actually use Richmond's plazas and food courts, which specialists are worth the drive, and when not to bother.
