About i's. Japanese Hair & Eyelash Salon

Third-floor Aberdeen Square salon run in the Japanese style, where the same shop does your haircut and your lashes. Women's cuts start around $68 and men's around $63, with keratin lash lifts and flat lash extension sets also on the menu.

Booking ahead is the whole game with small Japanese-style salons, because a shop with two or three chairs cannot absorb walk-ins the way a chain can. Phone before you go. That single habit is the difference between an appointment and a wasted trip into a building where nothing at all is visible from street level.

The Japanese salon model differs from most Canadian ones in ways worth understanding. Cutting is treated as a precision job, often done dry, with a lot of checking as it goes. Shops are small by design. Services that would sit in two separate businesses elsewhere often share one roof, and hair combined with lash work in a single appointment is the clearest example of that.

Aberdeen Square is the newer tower across from Aberdeen Centre on the No. 3 Road side, and its upper floors are a warren of small independent businesses. Salons, studios, clinics, tutoring, a great deal you would never find from the street. This is one of the genuinely useful features of the Golden Village. Small strata units let specialists operate at a scale a street-front lease would never support, which is why this part of Richmond supports so many of them.

Aberdeen station connects into that block, which makes the Canada Line the easier approach on a weekend when the parkades around the district fill. Anyone unfamiliar with the building should allow a few extra minutes for the lifts and the corridors, since unit numbers rather than shopfronts are how you navigate up there. It is a different kind of retail geography and it takes exactly one visit to learn.

Where Locals Actually Eat in Richmond BC

Nothing on Alexandra Road is a secret. It is just in a strip mall with bad signage and no patio, which is why visitors never find it. Here is how I actually use Richmond's plazas and food courts, which specialists are worth the drive, and when not to bother.
