About Mauve Hair

Saba Road salon a short walk from Richmond-Brighouse station, popular for creative color and lived-in blonde work. Appointment-based and on the smaller side, so it feels more like a private studio than a mall chair.

Bring photographs of everything your hair has already had done to it. Any decent colorist will ask, and blonde work in particular depends on that history, so an honest account of home box dye and old toner keeps an appointment from going sideways. Mauve Hair works at the creative color and lived-in blonde end of the trade, from Saba Road in Richmond's City Centre.

Saba Road runs east off No. 3 Road a short walk from Richmond-Brighouse station, in the part of the city that has filled in with towers over the last decade. It is walkable in a way most of Richmond is not. Coming down the Canada Line from Vancouver, sitting through a long appointment and never thinking about a car is a real advantage for a service that can take most of an afternoon.

A trim is a trim almost anywhere. Color is the service where the choice actually matters, which is why people travel across the region for a colorist and then stay with the same one for years. Consultation is part of the process rather than a formality. The sensible way to think about the cost is per year rather than per visit, since roots and toner bring you back on a schedule that the first appointment quietly sets, and a correction after bad color costs more than the difference between two chairs ever would.

Where Locals Actually Eat in Richmond BC

Nothing on Alexandra Road is a secret. It is just in a strip mall with bad signage and no patio, which is why visitors never find it. Here is how I actually use Richmond's plazas and food courts, which specialists are worth the drive, and when not to bother.
