Blundell Centre is one of the plazas holding residential Richmond together. It is not a destination and does not try to be. You go because it is close, you collect groceries in the same trip, and the whole errand takes less time than driving into City Centre and hunting for a stall on No. 3 Road would take before you even sat down.
West Richmond is quieter than the eastern half of the city in every way that matters here. The blocks around No. 2 Road are low-rise and residential, the streets are wide and flat, and the customer base for a shop like this is people who live within a few kilometres and come back every six weeks.
That kind of repeat trade shapes a salon far more than any marketing does. A stylist learns a head of hair over years rather than over one appointment, which is the unglamorous reason small plaza shops outlast a lot of flashier rooms elsewhere.
