Juvelisto works from a studio on Moncton Street where the design and the making happen in the same building, which is what makes the first kind of conversation possible.

That takes a conversation and a bench. Custom engagement work runs on the same principle and needs lead time, so it is not a project to start the week before you need it finished.
Hands-on classes are the other unusual thing here. Making a ring yourself counts as a genuine Steveston activity alongside the boat tours and the cannery museum, and it is a better rainy-day plan than most of what this city offers in February. The village is compact and easy to spend an afternoon in, with Moncton Street through the middle and the waterfront two blocks down. Anyone bringing in a piece to rebuild should bring the piece itself rather than a description of it, because the stones decide what is actually possible.
