Gold has a serious retail presence in Richmond. The counters inside Parker Place, Aberdeen Centre and Yaohan deal in 24-karat chain and bangles sold by weight, along with jade, pearls and Chinese wedding sets, and prices move against the daily spot rate: a trade running on quite different conventions from a mall chain.
Those mall chains are here too, at Richmond Centre and Lansdowne, alongside diamond and engagement specialists on the No. 3 Road corridor. Watch repair, appraisal, remounting and custom design round the category out, and a few Steveston shops work in silver and local design at a much smaller scale. Listings note hours and whether repair or appraisal is done on the premises.
Family-run jeweller on the ground floor of Aberdeen Centre, dealing in Swiss watches and fine jewelry. Known locally for a low-pressure showroom where staff will sit you down with tea, and for servicing and sizing what they sell.
