About Richmond Barbers

Walk-in only barber inside Richmond Centre by the Tim Hortons entrance, family-run since 1966. Adult cuts $23, youth $20, seniors $18, plus straight-razor shaves and beard trims. Open late six days a week, so it works after work.

Twenty spare minutes and a haircut you have been putting off for a month is a common enough situation, and it is exactly the one that appointment-only shops cannot solve. Walk-in barbering has become surprisingly hard to find in Richmond. Most shops now run on apps and booking windows, which is fine when you have planned ahead and useless when you have not.

Richmond Centre sits at No. 3 Road and Westminster Highway, directly above Richmond-Brighouse Station at the south end of the City Centre corridor. Getting here without a car is easy, which is not true of most of this city. Being inside a mall also makes a barber shop warm, findable and next to everything else you needed to do anyway, and that is a large part of why the format has survived here while disappearing from high streets.

The mall has been through a long redevelopment and parts of it have changed shape considerably, so anyone who has not been in a few years should allow a few minutes to find the right entrance rather than assuming the old geography still applies. Shops in this category are busiest around lunchtime and immediately after work, which is worth knowing if your twenty spare minutes are not flexible. Cuts, beard work and straight-razor shaves are the standard offer across the trade, and mall barbering generally sits well below what a salon chair costs a few hundred metres away.

Where Locals Actually Eat in Richmond BC

Nothing on Alexandra Road is a secret. It is just in a strip mall with bad signage and no patio, which is why visitors never find it. Here is how I actually use Richmond's plazas and food courts, which specialists are worth the drive, and when not to bother.
