Barbering split into two things over the last fifteen years. There are the shops with a website, a booking platform and a three week wait, and there are the ones that carried on doing the job at a fair price for the streets around them. This is the second kind, and it is the sort of place you can usually get into without booking days ahead.
Seafair is one of the quietest corners of Richmond, out on the west side between No. 1 Road and the dyke, mostly houses and mostly flat, with Seafair Centre as the local anchor. Francis Road crosses that flat middle of the city, lined with the low plazas that serve the streets behind them. Walk-in friendly does not mean never busy, and Saturday morning is the obvious pinch point at any barber shop anywhere. The whole west side is built on the assumption that everybody drives and parks without thinking about it, which comes as a relief after a week of City Centre parkades.
