Terra Nova is the northwest corner of Richmond, flat and quiet, where the West Dyke Trail begins and the city runs out into rural park and marsh. The pharmacy at 6011 No. 1 Road serves the residential blocks behind it, locally owned under the PharmaChoice banner rather than operating as a counter inside a supermarket.
The service list is broader than a straight dispensary. It runs to prescriptions, home health and medical supplies, medication management, travel medicine and online refills, which is about the full range a community pharmacy can carry. Medication management in particular is why people leave big-box counters. Anyone juggling several prescriptions, for themselves or for a parent, gets more from a pharmacist who recognizes the file than from a shorter queue.
West Richmond has fewer options for this than the rest of the city. The dense end of the pharmacy market is on No. 3 Road, and getting from Terra Nova to City Centre and back for a repeat prescription is a twenty minute round trip on a good day, longer once the traffic starts backing up along Westminster Highway. Travel medicine and vaccination appointments generally need booking rather than a walk-in, which is standard practice everywhere and worth building into the plan if a trip is close. For everything else, a counter a few minutes from home is most of the value on offer.
