About Moncton Pizzeria

A small wood-fired pizza shop that opened in Steveston in late 2023. Thin, blistered Neapolitan-style pies made to order plus a short list of sides. Mostly a takeout counter with limited seating, so call ahead on busy village evenings.

Wood-fired pizza arrived in Steveston late, and this shop opened into a village that had no shortage of fish and chips and very little else made to order in front of you. The pies are Neapolitan in style, thin with a blistered edge, cooked one at a time, with a short list of sides beside them. Seating is limited and most of the business goes out the door, which is the right call for this street.

Moncton Street runs two blocks through the middle of the village, low buildings, shops that have been there for decades, and a summer crowd that multiplies the local population on any sunny Saturday. Parking gets competitive from May through September. Give yourself the extra ten minutes, or walk in from further out rather than circling the same three blocks in hope.

Calling ahead on a busy evening is the practical move, because a small kitchen making pizzas individually can only move so fast, and Steveston fills up in a hurry when the weather turns. What a made-to-order takeout counter does for this village is fill a gap that fish and chips never covered. You can reach it on foot from the dyke. That combination is rarer in Richmond than it should be, and the village is better for having it.

Richmond BC Fall Family Activities

Fall is the best season in Richmond and I will argue about it. The dyke in low light, snow geese off Sturgeon Bank, pumpkin fields on the east side, bog trails nobody uses, and a proper indoor plan for the weeks when it rains for nine days straight.

London Farm and Steveston's Heritage Sites

London Heritage Farm sits out on Dyke Road with its back to the south arm of the Fraser, and it is the quietest of Steveston's heritage sites. Here is how I would string it together with Britannia, the cannery and the tram on Moncton Street, plus where to eat between stops.
