About Steveston Bicycle and Mobility

Long-standing neighborhood shop a block off the Steveston waterfront, selling bicycles and mobility equipment and handling everyday repairs, tune-ups and accessories. A local first call for a flat, a seized chain or a wheel true.

Commuters, hybrids and e-bikes with a basket on the front are what Steveston rides, not carbon road bikes. The West Dyke Trail runs from Garry Point up the western edge of the island toward Terra Nova, flat the whole way, and it gives this part of Richmond a cycling population that looks nothing like the road-racing crowd on the North Shore. People ride here in the rain, on gravel and pavement, year round. What they need is a shop that fixes things quickly.

Everyday repair is the core of that: flats, a seized chain, a wheel that needs truing, a tune-up before spring properly arrives. A neighborhood shop is worth more for this than a big store with a long service queue, because the value is entirely in dropping a bike off and getting it back before the weekend. Steveston Bicycle and Mobility sells bicycles and accessories alongside the service side.

Mobility equipment in the same shop is a sensible pairing and more common than you would think. This end of Richmond skews older than the city average, the terrain is flat, and the line between a mobility scooter and an e-bike is mostly a question of what someone needs rather than what they like. One shop covering both means the village does not have to send people across town for either.

Chatham Street sits a block back from the water, clear of the worst summer crush, and the dyke is close enough that a repair and a ride can be the same trip. Turnaround on service work varies a lot by season, with spring the busiest stretch, so a call before carrying a bike down there is sensible.

Where Locals Actually Eat in Richmond BC

Nothing on Alexandra Road is a secret. It is just in a strip mall with bad signage and no patio, which is why visitors never find it. Here is how I actually use Richmond's plazas and food courts, which specialists are worth the drive, and when not to bother.

Terra Nova Rural Park and the West Dyke Trail
