The district holds the densest concentration of everyday services on the island, with banks, clinics, salons and restaurants within a few blocks of each other.
Westminster Highway crosses the district and carries commercial addresses alongside No. 3 Road. Ackroyd Road, Minoru Boulevard and Cooney Road hold further addresses off the main route, and Alderbridge Way marks the northern edge, where City Centre gives way to Golden Village. Minoru Park and the civic buildings sit inside the same few blocks as the retail, so an errand run in this part of Richmond often covers several stops without the car moving.

Transit shapes movement inside City Centre more than it does elsewhere in Richmond. Canada Line stations sit along No. 3 Road, close to the shopping centers, the library and the civic buildings, and the blocks between them are short enough to walk. Highway 99 and Highway 91 connect the area to the rest of the region for anyone arriving by car. Listings here carry addresses either on the main roads or inside the shopping centers, so the street name and the center name together are usually enough to place a business before setting out.
